Do I need to bring my own camera?
Yes, photographers must bring their own cameras. If you do need to rent a camera or any other specific gear check out our rental partners MPEX Rentals All other essentials like lighting and modifiers are provided with your rental.

studio before booking?

Is the studio suitable
for video production?
Yes. Studio 55 is often used for video production. While the space is not fully soundproofed, background noise is usually minimal when using microphones.
Can I bring my own
props or furniture?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own props, furniture, or décor. Please remember that setup and teardown time is included in your rental, so book an additional hour if you need extra time.
What is your cancellation policy?
We do not offer refunds for cancellations. However, you may reschedule your session with at least 24 hours’ notice.

near Studio 55?
Yes. There are two paid parking lots located on either side of the building, as well as convenient metered street parking right out front.
Are food and drinks
allowed in the studio?
Yes, outside food and beverages are allowed. Please make sure to clean up after your session to avoid a cleaning fee.
Does the studio have Wi-Fi?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available to all clients during their session.
Can I host events at Studio 55?
No. Studio 55 is strictly for photography, videography, and content creation rentals. We do not allow parties, social gatherings, or unrelated events.
Can I play music
during my session?
Yes, music is welcome! Please keep the volume at a respectful level, as there may be other creatives working in the building.
Can I use confetti, glitter,
or messy props?
No. The use of confetti, glitter, smoke bombs, or similar items is prohibited and will result in a cleaning fee.
Can I come in early to set up?
No. Setup and teardown must happen during your booked time. If you need additional setup time, we recommend booking an extra hour.
Can I cut the
seamless paper backdrop?
Cutting or damaging seamless paper is not allowed. If paper is cut, there will be a $5 per foot charge.
Can I use my own
photography equipment?
Yes. While we provide lighting and modifiers, you are welcome to bring and use your own equipment if preferred.
Is Studio 55 a real photography studio?
The building looks abandoned.
Yes, Studio 55 is a fully functioning Columbus photography studio. We’re located on the second floor, which is why it may not be visible from the street. Rest assured—this is not a scam.
Does the building have an
elevator for heavy gear?
Yes, we have a small freight elevator available for transporting photography and video equipment to the second floor.
